Day 5
So the Ghost hunts you now. I am pretty proud of that, actually!
Need to tweak the speed, aggression, seek range, etc... but overall, pretty solid.
You can now transition from the outside scene to the Maze, and then back. Took a bit more effort to code that than I thought it would since I started with some bad assumptions in my code, but once I got that refactored, it went pretty smoothly.
Things to do:
1. SOUND. SOUND is going to be crucial, and I really should not be putting it off. I am probably going to have to do A LOT of work to get the sounds where I want them.
2. I want to play with the darkness in the maze, the speed the player moves, the speed the ghost moves, etc.. really tweak that horror factor up. I am aiming for hope, but dread, isolation, helplessness.
3. Need to get Charon talking. His conversation system will convey story, and it is also where the player will go to re-generate the maze.
The maze is... well there is a small but non-zero chance that the maze is unbeatable. I have actually been trapped in the beginning room. A couple of times. However: the maze generation algorithm is what it is at this point. "Pretty Good" needs to be good enough.
I am going to get maybe 4 hours of sleep at this point, off to bed! (I wouldn't be able to sleep anyway, I never can when their is game-making to do...)
