Day 4
Charon's Labyrinth » Devlog
Lot a work today. Added the ghost and got it moving. There are still some AI bugs to work out, but I am pretty pleased.
There are three pillars to make this game creepy:
1. Creepy atmospheric graphic vibe. Flicker lights, lots of fog, etc.
2. Creepy sound. This one is crucial. I need to remember to make a splash screen recommending headphones.
3. The Ghost has to behave well, like it is hunting you. Just chasing down the player relentlessly is not enough. The ghost has to get close, give scares, retreat, then try again. Relentlessly hounding you, yes, but more important, you have HOPE. That is when you will be scared.
