Day 3
Day 3:
Day 2 was a bit of a bust for me, but I feel like I have made some decent progress today. Messed around a bit with shaders to make a water texture, which is a first for me. Complicated, but I like the effect, even if most people probably will barely even notice it.
This is my major milestone: I added the outdoor area that will frame the story. It serves as the entrance to the Labyrinth, and it features a bank on the River Styx, a pier, and Charon himself. Eventually you will be able to talk to Charon, and this is how you will start the main quest and end the game.
I also randomized the Labyrinth itself a bit, now when it generates, different textures will randomly apply to the walls, ceiling, and floor. I will probably need to tweak the values a bit, but my hope is that this will add a bit of variation that a player can use to intuit where they are, rather than just miles of exact-same walls everywhere.
Finally, I added the rune stones, and I think they look great! They hang in mid-air and spin! wee!!
Anyway, I am off to bed. Chat at you later.
